Repertoire

My first teachers instructed me to play classical piano; without doubt one of the most difficult styles there is.

Although it is not my preferential taste; it has served me to apply the disciplined way in which it is played in the rest of styles; being these as diverse as jazz; blues; fusion; brit pop; rock; modern; Latin; Even reggaeton and of course classic too! I try to have enough diversity so that I always have something that all audiences like.

I can play from Count Basie songs; Ella Fitzgerald; Frank Sinatra; Stevie wonder; Beatles; John Legend; to Coldplay; Bruno Mars; Enrique Iglesias; Adele; Sam Smith; Metalica and Sia to name a few.

Career

My interest in music began at a young age. When I was 6 years old, I already made songs on the piano just by listening to them; and my mother; who was a teacher in Scotland could detect that I had an ear for music since young.

I´ve had several private teachers as I got older; but without doubt, being born in a family of musicians had a great effect on me.

Bit by bit I got used doing public performances; Until I was 18 years old, my first permanent job playing piano at the old Jazz Club in Tenerife south Jazzisimo before the band started playing.

Since then I have been lucky enough to play in many spectacular places; surrounded by musicians and people full of talent and passion for what they do.

Music

What I try to transmit with my playing style; is that the listener feels what I am playing.

That it transmits something to him; that influences his mood. Be a lighthearted song that transmits joy and tranquility; or it could be a soundtrack that makes the person who listens to me feel melancholic.

Because in the end we all feel the music to be a universal language.

How many times a song reminds us of a place, a person, a stage in our life?

Mi interés por la música empezó desde muy joven. A los 6 años ya sacaba canciones al piano con solamente escucharlas; y mi madre; que fue profesora en Escocia pudo detectar que tenía oído desde jovencito. Tuve varios profesores privados a medida que fui creciendo; pero sin duda nacer en una familia de músicos tuvo un gran efecto sobre mí. Me acostumbré poco a poco a ir haciendo actuaciones en público; hasta que habiendo cumplido los 18 años mi primer trabajo fijo tocando piano en el antiguo club de Jazz en Tenerife sur Jazzisimo antes de que empezara la banda del club a tocar. Desde entonces he tenido la suerte de tocar en muchos sitios espectaculares; rodeado por músicos y gente lleno de talento y pasión por lo que hacen.

   

Música:

Lo que intento transmitir con mi estilo de tocar Piano; es que el oyente sienta lo que estoy tocando. Que le transmita algo; que influya en su estado de ánimo. Ya sea una canción desenfada que transmita alegría y tranquilidad; o pudiendo ser una banda sonora que le haga sentirse melancólico a la persona que me escuche. Porque al final todos sentimos la música al ser un idioma universal. Cuantas veces una canción nos recuerda a un lugar; una persona; ¿una etapa en nuestra vida…?    

Repertorio:

Mis primeros profesores me instruyeron a tocar Piano clásico; sin duda uno de los estilos más difíciles que hay. Aunque no sea es mi gusto preferencial; me ha servido para aplicar la disciplinada forma en que se toca en el resto de estilos; siendo estos tan diversos como el jazz; blues; fusion; brit pop; rock; modern; latin; ¡incluso reguetón y por supuesto clásico también! Intento tener suficiente diversidad para que siempre tenga algo que guste a todos los públicos. Puedo tocar desde canciones de Count Basie; Ella fitzgerald; Frank Sinatra; Stevie Wonder; Beatles; John Legend; a Coldplay; Bruno Mars; Enrique Iglesias; Adele; Sam Smith; Metalica y Sia por nombrar unos pocos.
